House Clearance in Hayle

House, probate and property clearance in Hayle and the surrounding area. Send the postcode if you are in a nearby village.

Hayle sits on an estuary on the north coast of West Cornwall, where the A30 runs close enough that the town is easier to reach than St Ives or the Lizard. It grew around copper smelting and foundry work, which still shows in the two older centres — Copperhouse to the east, Foundry toward the harbour and the viaduct — and in the terraces built for that industry. Later housing at Loggans, High Lanes and toward Phillack is flatter and more open. Across the dunes, the Towans hold holiday parks and chalets as well as houses.

Cornwall House Clearance covers Hayle as part of county-wide work. There is no office on Fore Street. Compared with the harbour hills of St Ives, most Hayle streets give a van a reasonable chance of standing near the door. That does not make every job simple. Terraces still have small stairs; park homes have their own rules; village lanes toward Gwinear still need a turning note.

Copperhouse, Foundry and the Towans

Copperhouse terraces are the characteristic older stock: modest rooms, a rear yard, on-street parking. Foundry mixes similar housing with streets that sit against the harbour and the railway. Phillack, on the west of the estuary, has its own village pattern and a hill down to the church. High Lanes and Loggans are later and usually easier to park.

The Towans are a different enquiry. Some properties are ordinary houses on made-up roads; some are chalets or park homes on sites with speed bumps, narrow internal roads and restrictions on commercial vehicles. Describe what the building is, not just “Hayle”. Gwithian, further along the dunes, adds coastal lanes and seasonal parking pressure.

House clearance services in Hayle

A house clearance may be a long-occupied terrace, a semi on an estate, a village house in St Erth or Angarrack, or a holiday unit on the Towans. The work is the agreed contents out, reusable items identified, residual waste disposed of through authorised routes.

Holiday parks and second homes produce holiday-let clearance as well as family-house work. If the job is a furniture change between lettings, give the dates and any site rules about vehicles. We do not assume a park will let a van through the barrier.

Full and partial property clearances

Full empties in the older terraces should include the loft and the yard store. Estate houses add garages that have been used as workshops. Park homes and chalets may have little loft space and a lot of furniture packed into a small floor. Photograph what is there.

Partial jobs — a garage only, the bulky furniture, one floor of a house — need a list. Draw the line so a neighbour’s belongings in a shared store are not removed.

Probate and bereavement clearances

Probate clearance in Hayle is often a terrace or a bungalow that has been in one family through the town’s later industrial years. Papers, tools and furniture sit together. We will set aside what you name. We will not treat the house as a skip.

Bereavement clearance can be paced. Relatives who now live in mid-Cornwall or further east can send photographs first; the remote house clearance page covers access when nobody can meet the van. Keys must be agreed.

Landlord and end-of-tenancy clearances

Hayle has a year-round rental stock in the terraces and on the estates, and a seasonal stock on the Towans. Landlord clearance before a refit, and end-of-tenancy clearance when goods have been left, need a lawful basis for removal. Lofts and garages are where leftover belongings hide.

Site-owned holiday units can involve extra permissions. Say who owns the contents and who has authorised access to the park.

Furniture, garage and loft clearance

A sofa or a bedroom suite can be collected without emptying the house. On the flatter streets that is usually a stair and a parking question rather than a long hill carry. Garages at High Lanes, Loggans and in the villages often hold mixed household and DIY contents — mention paint, timber and anything that looks industrial. What we clear lists household goods and the specialist materials we will not assume we can take.

Reuse and responsible disposal

Usable furniture and household goods are identified first, including suites coming out of holiday units because the owner wants a different look. Recycling follows where materials can be separated. Disposal is last. Reuse and recycling sets out that order. We do not publish a percentage. Household recycling centres are a separate option; see the recycling centres guide.

How to get a quote

Send the postcode, whether the house is Copperhouse, Foundry, Phillack, the Towans or a surrounding village, photographs of the rooms and of the approach, and any site rules that affect a van. Pricing follows volume, labour, vehicle space and access. Then request a quote. Many Hayle houses can be priced from pictures. A park home or a packed terrace loft may still need a look.

Areas around Hayle we cover

St Erth, Connor Downs, Gwinear, Angarrack, Phillack, Gwithian and the road toward Camborne and St Ives are the usual surrounding places. St Ives is close and has a separate page because the harbour streets are a different problem. The areas list covers the rest of the county. Coverage is Cornwall; the A30 makes Hayle one of the simpler far-west towns to reach, not a reason to skip the access notes.

Frequently asked questions

Is access in Copperhouse different from Foundry?

The two historic centres sit at opposite ends of the estuary town and have different street patterns. Copperhouse has older terraces and tighter kerbs in places; Foundry sits toward the harbour and the viaduct, with a mix of industrial-era streets and later housing. Neither is as steep as St Ives. Send the postcode and a photograph of the door. We will not price a Copperhouse terrace as if it stood on a wide close at High Lanes.

Can you clear leftover furniture from a chalet or a park home on the Towans?

We can look at it if you describe the access and the construction. Some park roads take a van; some do not, and some sites restrict commercial vehicles. Ownership and site rules have to be clear before anything is removed. Photographs of the unit, the path and the nearest place a vehicle can stand are the starting point. We will say if the job is not practical as a household clearance.

Do you cover Angarrack, St Erth and Connor Downs as well as the town?

Yes. Those parishes sit around Hayle on the A30 side and are ordinary jobs — village streets, some lanes, more garages than the older town terraces. Gwinear and Gwithian add rural and coastal access notes. Put the village name on the enquiry so the quote matches the road, not a generic Hayle label.
